Small Group Studies

No matter what the age, we want people to come to know God and allow His Word to mold their lives. In order to help people understand God’s will more deeply, we offer several different small groups. A small group is generally somewhere between 6 and 15 people who have an open discussion class.

Availability

Senior bible study

Some of our members get together for a Bible study twice a month here at the church building.  While it is called Senior Bible study, and generally people attending are over 60, it is open to anyone who has time during the day.  It is a great way for you to study the Bible with people and get to know others within the church family.  The class is normally held on the first and third Monday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall and is taught by one of our members.

Young Adults

The Young Adults are made up of those in their 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s and meet the first Saturday of each month.  It generally is a social event where people bring snack foods to share and then group games are played.  Free baby-sitting is provided at the host home.

Children’ Ministries

We have an active youth program. There are scheduled activities throughout the year for children ranging from preschool - high school. The youth groups are:

  • Heavenly Halos are the preschool age children.

  • Joy Bunch is kindergarten through 5th grade.

  • Teens are grades 6 through 12.

Each group participates in a variety of social as well as spiritual activities which are geared for their individual age groups. Past activities have included youth rallies, ice skating, zoo trips, gift basket preparation and delivery to elderly members, picnics, play dates, crafts, scavenger hunts, Christmas caroling, Easter egg hunts, talent shows and nursing home visitation. These activities encourage our youth in building strong relationships with each other outside of the typical church setting.

Correspondence studies

Not only do we offer small group studies, but we also realize that each person or family needs to come to a better understanding of the Bible. We offer opportunities for you to grow spiritually by studying the Bible with someone in your home or at some place of convenience. This is a great way to ask questions, obtain a deeper understanding about our church and beliefs, or to study the Bible with a desire to understand God’s will for your life more completely. These personal studies are conducted by our minister or other members of our congregation.

If you cannot find the time or desire to study with someone, we also offer Bible studies through the mail. You do them at your leisure, send in the answer sheet, and the next lesson will be mailed to you. There are eight lessons in this course, and its goal is to help you be able to understand the Bible, its divisions (like the Old and New Testament), and timelines as to events taking place, and to develop a basic understanding of doctrinal and salvation issues.
